you really care
So, I'm a little embarrased to admit that I didn't really notice how misogynist the superbowl ads were this year as a whole. I don't really know if that's because I'm not the type to over-think a commercial or because I'm so used to women getting the short end of the stick in general, or because it becomes so painful to think about that I choose to ignore it (I'm leaning towards the latter).
Instead of writing my own rant about how awful it is that these corporations poured millions of dollars into belittling women to sell a product, I'm going to re-post my two favorite commentaries. The first, from juliasegal:

The second, from pandagon.net:

The dodge charger one was definitely offensive. But I'm not sure I saw the same tebow or audi ad that the author of that pandagon article did.
Yeah I don't remember the audi ad, but the tebow ad is pretty terrible. It's an anti-abortion ad, given mostly by Tebow's mother about what a miracle baby he was. The "mothers not dying in childbirth is just a case of being tough" message is a little bit of a stretch, but I'm pretty pro-choice so I was offended anyway.
I remember it, and after rewatching it twice can see how it can be a little offensive. I'm pro-choice, too.
Anyway, abortion is a touchy subject I'm not going any further into.
